Executive Team


Edward Miller

CEO

Edward Miller is the CEO of LumenVox and is responsible for developing the company’s strategic vision, technology and business strategies. Ed founded LumenVox after more than 20 years of experience designing and implementing multi-lingual and multi-currency accounting systems for worldwide corporations; including founding a company where he oversaw a telephony hosting facility with a carrier grade, state of the art voice over IP infrastructure to offer speech based applications in the cloud to service providers. Throughout his career, Ed has developed a comprehensive knowledge of human computer interaction, machine learning, networking, data handling theories and natural language processing. Ed holds a Bachelor of Science from Hillsdale College and holds 5 U.S. Speech Recognition patents.

Ed’s hobbies include implementing eco-technology, assisting/supporting artists at major art festivals, camping, hiking, trekking, sailing or rafting. and even apply custom CSS to this text in the module Advanced settings.

Bettina Stearn

Managing Director, Europe

Bettina Stearn is the Managing Director of the European Lumenvox branch and has been with VoiceTrust since the very early days. In 2002 she started her career in the test department and built up VoiceTrust’s testing center. She quickly emerged to handle complex projects, such as the first ever voice biometric Common Criteria Certification and implemented voice biometric solutions for customers as pre-sales engineer. She was appointed Managing Director of VoiceTrust’s German Office in 2011, was involved in an IPO and contributed to several strategic activities and mergers.

Bettina holds a master’s degree in geoscience and remote sensing.

Edita Bilak

Chief Financial Officer

Edita Bilak is responsible for overseeing all financial operations for LumenVox. She has over 20 years of experience in private and public accounting and has held positions as Chief Financial Officer, Controller, Accounting Manager and Banking Officer across many industries, including, technology, banking, manufacturing, retail and nonprofits. Edita is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the California Society of CPAs. Edita holds an MBA from University of Phoenix.

Edita likes to spend her spare time golfing, gardening, volunteering, and hanging out with her German Shepherd and 2 Corgi mixes, all rescued from the same shelter.

Jim Blake

Chief Information Officer

Jim Blake is responsible for LumenVox’ Information Technology. He came to LumenVox in 1999 after studying Computer Science at Coleman University. In his tenure at LumenVox, Jim has designed and implemented complete IVR solutions, has gained extensive database experience designing and implementing a distributed multi-terabyte database system to handle personal user information, call center integration, accounting integration, marketing data and reporting as well as creating numerous high availability distributed architecture solutions and managing a data center with over 200 servers.

Jim spends his spare time with his wife and their new daughter and remodeling his house that was built in 1939. Jim is also a great short order cook and spends every Labor Day running the kitchen at his family’s restaurant in Wyoming.

Nigel Quinnin

Chief Technology Officer

Nigel Quinnin is responsible for the design and implementation of all LumenVox technology while producing world class products that address customer needs. He joined the LumenVox team in 2008 from a strong background leading software development teams in a number of sectors, including pioneering HD digital television distribution systems at Limt AB, a Swedish owned public company where he was global CTO overseeing a technical staff of around 200 engineers and managers. Nigel studied Electronic Engineering at the University of Newcastle in England.

Nigel is a world traveler, having visited 26 countries, he has the ability to order beer and say thank you in most of them. In his spare time you can catch him watching Formula One racing or reading an adventurous novel on his Kindle.

Dr. Marcel Kockmann

Chief Core Technology Officer

Before joining Voicetrust in 2011, Marcel worked in speech research groups at Siemens, SVOX and Nuance. From 2013 he led VT’s Research Department in Toronto for two years, deepening Voicetrust’s research cooperation with CRIM. After reworking the companies core technologies with his team for several years he was appointed as CTO in 2016. Since the LumenVox-Voicetrust merger Marcel oversees the core technology development, roadmap and strategy as Chief Core Technology Officer. Marcel holds an engineering degree in media technology and a Ph.D. in computer science and engineering.

Tim Walsh

Chief Revenue Officer

Tim Walsh is responsible for all worldwide sales and business development for LumenVox. Tim has over 30 years of global sales and marketing experience leading and supporting teams of consultative individuals focused on providing value and enhancing the customer experience. Tim has worked for companies including Nuance, Avaya and IBM. Tim and his teams have launched some of the most innovative voice user interface applications in the industry such as voice activated dialing, virtual personal assistants, voicemail transcription, set top box navigation, and others. He’s worked with contact centers his entire career helping them to achieve their automation and economic goals.

Tim enjoys traveling and the arts. He’s just recently begun gardening and likes to experiment with plant varieties native to New England.

Jeff Hopper

Vice President, Client Services

Jeff Hopper is responsible for all global customer facing client services including support, training and solution design. He comes to LumenVox with over 20 years expertise in speech recognition, in-bound and out-bound customer self-service applications, Customer Relationship Management (CRM applications, multi-channel contact centers, call routing in call centers and the supporting technologies; including 5 years at Nuance Communications as North American Director of Sales Engineering and 5 years with Siebel Systems as Sales Consulting Manager. Jeff holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lambuth University.

Jeff is an avid traveler and amateur photographer; he has taken pictures in all 50 states and over 20 countries. He also enjoys hiking and camping in the mountains of Washington, cooking, and gardening.

Mike Kellermann

Vice President, Authentication and Anti-Fraud Solution Sales

Mike Kellermann leads sales for our Authentication and Anti-Fraud Solutions Group. He brings over 30 years experience as a top-producer for company’s ranging from cyber security to Fortune-500 sales organizations. Most recently, Mike worked for NICE Systems where he spent five years focusing on authentication and fraud prevention capabilities utilizing voice biometrics. His knowledge and understanding of the industry have guided several of North America‘s largest financial institutions in adopting voice biometrics as a primary tool for securely authenticating customers’ while also improving the customer experience. He is also credited with placing the world’s first passive voice biometric solution in a dual environment for both live agent and self-service authentication. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and business management from East Stroudsburg University.

In addition to spending time with his family, Mike can often be found in or around the water either boating, fishing or swimming. He also enjoys traveling and contributing to charities in his community.

As Sales Manager, Elmar is responsible for our European customers. Based in our German headquarters, he has more than 25 years experience in the Telecom/Speech industry and holds an MBA in Sales & Marketing from the University of Applied Science in Munich.

As Account Manager, Kevin is responsible for managing LumenVox’ Asterisk community since 2013, and manages many of our HSP partners. Kevin holds a BA in Communications from UC – Davis.

Sales Executive

As a sales executive, Brook is responsible for driving new business development as well as managing LumenVox accounts. He has 23 years of experience in the Telecom/Speech industry and holds a BA in psychology from the University of Washington.
