Restart Logs

Reference Number: AA-01764 Views: 7234 0 Rating/ Voters

Each application writes out a special log file called appname_server_restart.txt (e.g. tts_server_restart.txt or media_server_restart.txt) when it restarts. These logs contain just the information about the startup sequence for an application. Usually, this information is also found in the main application log for that application, but often those logs get cycled very quickly. For example, on a server with 200 ports and full logging verbosity enabled, the media_server_app.txt can fill up in a few minutes, causing the startup sequence information to be lost when the logs roll. The restart logs provide a place where support technicians can quickly locate important startup information even on busy servers.
