LumenVox is excited to announce the release of LumenVox Version 18.0.400 of the LumenVox Speech Solutions. These new and enhanced features focus on security and flexibility so that companies of all shapes and sizes can directly address business needs in today’s changing world.
Support for additional connections, testing and enhanced security with encrypted audio packet transmission
With this version, we have added Media Server support for MRCPv2 over the TLS protocol. Transport layer security (TLS) provides communication security between client/server applications, enabling privacy, integrity, and protection for the data that’s transmitted. Our Simple MRCP Client has been updated to allow testing of TLS features. This version also includes support for secure SIP (SIPS) connections and encrypted audio packet transmission over the SRTP protocol. The Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP) provides encryption, message authentication, and integrity, and replay attack protection to the RTP data.
Additional Short Utterance Transcription Language Support
We have added support to load alternate language models when using short utterance transcription. This provides greater convenience and ease as it removes the need for a costly or complex statistical language model, and it increases accuracy.
Up to date operating system support for optimal security, performance, development and streamlined installation
We have added support for Windows Server 2019 Operating Systems, and deprecated support for Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7. The Windows Product Installer has been streamlined to allow easier product installation and Windows development has been migrated to Visual Studio 2017 for optimal coding algorithms.
Added flexibility regarding MRCP properties
All Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP) headers can now be overwritten as a Vendor-specific-parameter. If a header appears in both the header and the Vendor-specific-parameter header, the one in the Vendor-specific-parameter will override the other setting. This is to allow customer the ability to change MRCP properties that a given platform may not allow.
Extended dashboard diagnostic capabilities
The dashboard diagnostic capabilities were extended for TLS protocol functionality/testing and enhanced with the ability to back up and restore configuration settings from the diagnostic page of the dashboard.
These enhancements have been driven by partner feedback and requests. They showcase LumenVox’ continued commitment to making speech applications more secure and easier to incorporate into everyday business.

Rest assured, there will be no interruption in LumenVox service or support
As efforts concerning the containment of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) expand and evolve around the world, we want to assure you that we are focused on three things:
- Ensuring the safety of our employees and their families
- Continuing to provide exceptional software and service to our customers
- Supporting local efforts to limit the spread and impact of COVID-19
We do not anticipate any interruption in the LumenVox suite of software and services.
A significant number of our employees already work remotely, and we are fortunate our business allows us to easily transition to a fully remote workforce. This makes us confident in our ability to continue providing great service to you and conducting business normally.
That means, among other things:
- Your account and all of your service and support representatives will be accessible to you and your employees as usual.
- Our general support staff will remain available for phone calls, emails, and live chat from 9:00 AM (Central European Time +1 GMT) to 5:00 PM (Pacific Time -8 GMT), Monday through Friday.
- Our multiple redundant computer servers, most all of which are already remotely administered, will continue to operate without interruption.
We know that many of you are dealing with these challenges in your own organizations as well as at home, and we’d like to recognize your efforts. Thank you for contributing to the health and welfare of us all and for inspiring us to persevere in times of hardship. As always, we deeply value your support, and you can be certain that LumenVox is here to support you.
Let us know how we can help keep your customers feeling connected and safe.
As the world continues to react to COVID-19 (coronavirus), the LumenVox team is readily prepared to help our clients deliver excellent customer service amid surmounting challenges. Here are a few LumenVox best practice ideas and relevant solutions that apply to the new sign of the times:
Best Practice #1: Play it safe.
It is important for everyone to deliver great customer service and balance the need to protect your staff. At LumenVox we are limiting staff travel and providing our headquarter offices with the option to work from home. Many of our colleagues are doing the same, as significant industry events have been rescheduled (See our new appearance dates here and watch this space for upcoming virtual events). In every business, people should come first.
Best Practice #2: Boost remote engagement technology.
Communication is key when daily life is disrupted. Customers rely upon remote channels to gather information. One way you can elevate your business’ remote engagement strategy is with automated outbound calling. LumenVox Call Progress Analysis enables innovative, tone-based outbound calling to inform customers of changes to times, events, etc. What’s special about LumenVox’ solution is that we can deliver a significantly higher payload compared to competitors, as our Call Progress Analysis is able to verify if an outbound call has been connected to a live person or an automated recording system. Additionally, we have such flexible licensing, we offer “bursting” to assist with higher than usual call volumes.
Best Practice #3: Ensure secure authentication.
Secure authentication is paramount as call centers are increasingly overloaded with calls. Do you have cutting-edge technology to make sure every customer is who they say they are? Voice biometrics protects and defends vulnerable voice channels from criminal activity. Both active and passive biometrics keep customer accounts secure, and the interaction seamless.
As for LumenVox, our technology is immune, always up and running and we are here to ensure no disruption of our products and services. We want you to be able to say the same. Let us know how we can help you keep your customers feeling connected and safe.
