In most cases, using LumenVox as your speech recognition provider is a matter of making a few changes within your voice platform's configuration.
Once you've downloaded and installed the LumenVox Speech Engine, License Server and MRCP Server,
you simply point your platform to our MRCP Server and begin sending us your decodes.
Some of the platforms that we've completed initial interoperability testing with include:
- Aculab
- Avaya Voice Portal 4.0
- Avaya Interactive Response 3.0
- Broadworks
- Cisco IOS Routers
- Genesys Voice Platform
- Holly Voice Platform
- VoiceGenie Platform
There are a number of ways that your application can communicate with our Speech Engine. Which
one you use depends on the platform you use.
MRCP
We've built the engine to work with the Media Resource Control Protocol, the industry standard for
controlling media resources like ASR or TTS engines. LumenVox supports both versions (1 and 2) of MRCP.
Almost all of the platforms listed above use MRCP to connect with LumenVox.
As MRCP is the most commonly used method to establish communication between your platform and our speech
engine, we're working on platform-specific instructions detailing the necessary configuration changes.
For example, we've written step-by-step instructions for using LumenVox with Avaya Voice Portal here.
If your platform supports MRCP, then switching to LumenVox from a different ASR is simple. In general,
all you will need to do is:
-
Install and configure LumenVox. See our Quick Start service for information on how LumenVox can help
you with this.
-
Set your platform to use LumenVox as the ASR instead of your current provider. In most platforms, this
is as simple as setting a new IP address.
-
Optionally, configure any other ASR specific settings, such as the semantic interpretation format or
the correct resource string. In most cases, you won't need to do any special configuration.
This entire procedure can be done in just a few hours. LumenVox takes special care to ensure that our
products are compatible with our competition's, so switching is as easy as possible.
Partner Platform
Several platform developers have written an API-level integration, which allows them to use our Speech Engine
"out of the box."
For example, LumenVox comes automatically installed on Incendonet's SpeechBridge.
Similarly, Asterisk customers can use the Asterisk Connector Bridge to seamlessly point to our Speech Engine.
It's just that simple!
If you are interested in becoming a Platform Partner like Asterisk or Incendonet, please let us know by

Custom Integrations
If you've built your own platform, you'd most likely need to use our C/C++ API to have your applications
control our Speech Engine. Our API documentation can be read about in our free Help documentation.
We pride ourselves on being as helpful to you as possible
