LumenVox Quick Start

While LumenVox software is relatively easy to install, every product has a learning curve. That's why we offer LumenVox Quick Start: provide us with remote access to your machine and we will download, install, license, and setup the LumenVox Speech Engine for you.

What do I get?

You receive the following as part of the service:

  • A fully working speech recognition system: we will download and install all of the necessary LumenVox software on a single machine. All licensing will be set up and installed to your specification. This includes creating deployments, generating server ID files, downloading, and installing the license files.
  • Configuration to your specification. This includes configuring available languages and setting up any necessary peripheral processes for the Speech Engine, such as configuring our media server for MRCP communications.
  • Basic testing to ensure the system is working correctly. We will provide test applications so you can verify the installation yourself.
  • Extra configuration, such as setting up your voice platform to work with LumenVox, may be available at additional costs.
  • One hour of technical support time, entitling you to ask questions about basic speech application design, grammar development, speech tuning, or any other normal technical support question. This guarantees you get the most out of your time by taking advantage of our resources.

Why wouldn't I just install it myself?

Whether you're an application developer, a service provider, or an end-user, your core competency is not installing our products.

You could spend some time reading our manuals or looking at our vast array of online resources, but many users find it a better use of their resources to have our experts deal with setting up any software.

With the LumenVox installation service, you can get started immediately building and testing your applications. It provides a great way to hit the ground running and make the best use of your resources.

How long does it take?

Installation, licensing, configuration, and simple testing can take anywhere from 45 minutes to a couple of hours, depending on your internet connection speed, operating system, and other circumstances. Our technicians can provide you with time estimates and an installation window once we have gathered some basic information from you. We are generally able to process installation orders in less than 3 business days. If you have an immediate need to install the software, please contact us with your request.

What do I need?

We need the following in order to perform our installation service:

  • The target system must meet our minimum system requirements: a modern CPU with at least 2 GB of RAM, running in a non-virtualized environment.
  • The system must be running a supported operating system. Supported operating systems include Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server, Windows 7, Red Hat Enterprise 5, Cent OS 5, and Debian 5.
  • You must have an Internet connection and some form of remote access. Our preference is to use Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol on Windows and SSH/SCP on Linux, but we are flexible on this. You must also be able to provide us with a route into your network so that we can connect via these protocols.
  • You must have available LumenVox licenses — this service covers installation and configuration, and does not include the price of the licenses themselves. If you have not yet purchased any licenses, we are happy to help you purchase and install licenses as part of this process.
  • You must have a good recovery plan in the event something goes wrong. We do not anticipate this, but any configuration change carries some risk. Please have a recent backup of the system and the ability to revert to it quickly if needed.

Once you have purchased the Quick Start installation package, we will contact you within one working day to arrange the installation service. LumenVox technical support is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.

Disclaimer: Due to the many variations in operating system and computer configuration, LumenVox cannot guarantee that all software installations will be successful. Our technicians will provide the customer with regular updates and make all reasonable efforts to ensure every installations success, but there may be instances where it is simply not feasible. In those cases, LumenVox will work with the customer to find alternative solutions.

LumenVox technicians are trained and knowledgeable, but all software installations carry certain risks. LumenVox will not be responsible for any damage to your system or its configuration. It is the customer's responsibility to have recent backups and a recovery plan in the event of a problem. We strongly suggest performing the installation on a backup, test, or development machine and not on any live production systems for this reason.
