LumenVox Awarded 2004 Innovation Award
By TMC Labs

San Diego, CA (NOV 9, 2004) — LumenVox announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC®)'s TMC Labs division named the Speech Tuner as an Innovation Award winner for 2004.

The Speech Tuner is a complete maintenance tool to improve speech applications based on various ASRs, including LumenVox and Nuance; ScanSoft and many others are planned for the near future. The Speech Tuner is designed to allow companies easy access to their call logs so they may tune their speech application systems and provide their callers with a high–quality, consistent speech application. The Tuner has the ability to automatically rate performance against commonly accepted measures like WER (Word Error Rate), giving an accurate picture of performance, such as average confidence scores, correct versus incorrect responses, in–grammar versus out–of–grammar performance, etc. The speech can be evaluated against the grammar as it was sent to the ASR, and call data can instantly be re–tested and re–scored to see if changes will influence the application's performance.

Keith Herold, Lead Speech Recognition Engineer and architect of the Speech Tuner states, "The adoption and acceptance of the Tuner by the speech industry has been phenomenal. More and more companies see the importance of utilizing the Tuner in–house and demand is even higher for incorporating a wide range of ASRs, VXML and SALT platforms."

According to Tom Keating, CTO and TMC Labs Editorial Director at TMC, "The Innovation Awards exemplify the best and the most unique products and services that this industry has to offer. LumenVox has demonstrated a commitment to quality, and a commitment to the further development of the contact center industry through its Speech Tuner. LumenVox deserves this great honor, and I look forward to seeing other innovative solutions from them as they continue to contribute to the future of the contact center marketplace."
