LumenVox Announces Version 4.0 at
SpeechTEK 2003

San Diego, CA (SEPT 23, 2003) — LumenVox will be announcing Version 4.0 of their Speech Platform and Speech Engine at SpeechTek 2003, in New York City from September 30th through October 2nd. LumenVox will be demonstrating Version 4.0 in Booth 217 during the two–day exposition, being held at the New York Marriott Marquis.

The newest addition to the already feature–rich Speech Platform is VoiceXML export functionality. The application is ported from LumenVox to a VoiceXML file for web accessibility. Kyle Danielson, Lead Software Engineer at LumenVox states, "The VoiceXML export is the first step to becoming completely VXML compliant, in accordance with the W3C standards."

Version 4.0 of the Speech Designer has dramatically improved client/server functionality, and has added support for Spanish. Through LumenVox's Custom Action DLLs, applications can now handle bridging calls and outbound dialing. Users also have the option of coding Custom Action DLLs, which allow for connectivity to any database, in either C\C++ or with the new GUI–based Visual Basic Scripting tool: the Adaptive Scripting Extension System.

The latest version of the Speech Engine offers dramatically improved performance, as well as support for Spanish. Support for a–law 8kHz audio format is also now available in this new version. Streaming audio support is available with an API call. Client/server architecture that distributes the speech–processing load will also be available. In an effort to continuously support latest versions of Linux, the Engine operates on RedHat Linux 9.0 or later, as well as Windows NT, 2000, and XP. LumenVox allows developers to custom–design their own grammars on–the–fly, filter out–of–vocabulary words, and modify the engine and grammar performance at run–time. Built–in grammars handle single digits, currency, and natural numbers.
