Job Description — Data Center Administrator
Job Description
The LumenVox Data Center Administrator is required to draw on deep server/network administration experience
and creativity to design, implement, maintain, and improve a high availability datacenter (primarily running
CentOS Linux) that handles voice applications making use of SIP and web-based technologies.
Responsibilities
-
Responsible for design, development, implementation, maintenance and analysis of high
reliability hosting environment.

Troubleshoot issues related to LAMP and SIP networked services.

Maintain security integrity of network.
-
Oversee day-to-day operation of network and hosting environment.
-
Implement effective backup solutions.
-
Maintain high-availability architecture.
-
Maintain detailed effective documentation of all designs and procedures.
Knowledge
-
Enterprise-level Linux administration experience including:
- IP tables and related routing/firewall tools.
- Apache web servers running large numbers of PHP-based web services.
- Linux virtual servers and other clustering/load balancing technologies.
- Managing MySQL database servers, especially in redundant/HA designs with replication.
- VPN and other security/networking technologies.
- Nagios and/or other monitoring tools.
- Using BIND to administer DNS servers.
- Administering sendmail and other mail services.
- Enterprise-level backup solutions.
- Virtualization technology (Xen, KVM, VMWare, etc.).

General network design, analysis, troubleshooting.

Configuration of routers, switches, firewalls and session border controllers.

Some knowledge of creating and using Linux software packaging (RPM, DEB, YUM, APT etc.).

Experience with SIP and VOIP applications a plus.

Experience with network programming (HTTP, RTP, UDP and socket based network software).

Extensive procedural documentation experience.
