Job Description — VP Worldwide Sales & Business Development
Global Sales of Speech Recognition Software.
LumenVox is seeking a hands-on leader for its sales and business development functions and
as part of its senior management cadre. The candidate will lead a small and growing team of
sales executives and managers to close product sales and strategic distribution agreements.
He/She will develop and implement a sales strategy that is aligned with company goals, and
provide customer feedback to marketing and the rest of the organization. The candidate will
also monitor and analyze sales activities against goals to provide clarity around revenue
growth in the short and long term. The VP will be expected to have deep experience in the
speech recognition or telephony software industries, a strong track record of accelerating
sales, extensive relationships, and an entrepreneurial instinct.
Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate company sales and business development functions in concert with
marketing.

Develop strategic sales plan and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology to most
effectively sell speech recognition software, upgrades, and support.

Identify and personally follow up on critical developing client accounts and major
distribution opportunities, and coordinate the management of all other accounts.

Maintain SFA/CRM systems to ensure that account information is accurate and relevant to
the entire organization.

Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.

Develop and manage sales budget, and provide feedback to ensure effective marketing
expenditures.

Use and further evolve LumenVox's current Sales Program, along with presentations, and
other tools and resources available to identify leads, qualify opportunities and sell
LumenVox services.

Imbue the team with a solution selling approach and work with customers to create
appropriate solutions utilizing LumenVox technology.

Become an articulate champion for the LumenVox value proposition.

Must work independently and meet deadlines and quotas in a timely and efficient manner.

Network diligently to identify and contact potential business development opportunities
through calling, speaking engagements, conferences, and other appropriate methods.

Interact with customer support, QA and marketing teams to identify new features and
potential markets.

Prepare and edit RFIs, RFPs, and draft informal proposals when necessary in collaboration
with the Support and Services Teams.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge
-
5+ years sales management experience, 10+ year sales/marketing experience required.

Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in speech technology sales, preferably with a
technical understanding and background in enterprise sales, SaaS, telecom, or
hardware/software sales.

Deep technical knowledge to handle and understand issues with customers/prospects.

Able to adapt and overcome challenges swiftly and competently.

Familiar with the functions of customer support, QA and marketing to identify new features
and potential bugs.

Proficient use of multiple operating systems, Microsoft Office, and a willingness to learn
new software programs is required.
Skills

Energetic leader with demonstrated ability to lead a team to find, build and manage a book
of client accounts from start to finish by selling speech recognition software/solutions to
SMBs, enterprises, large Telcos, and channel partners.

Must possess strong presentation, listening, and problem solving skills.

Must have strong solution selling and channel development background, superb communication
skills, and the ability to present both the business case and technical path to
Resellers/End-users/prospects.

Candidate is expected to achieve quarterly sales quota with credible weekly tracking.

Based in beautiful San Diego, CA, but may be remote for the right individual.
